Camped two nights here. Very hot but well worth it. The hike out on the window trail was worth the effort. I wish I would have chosen to see it at sunset but next time.
Spent four hours off road driving the Old Ore Road, Furi was not impressed with my offroad skills or risk assessment judgment.
The drive out to Del Rio Texas was a slog. Ended up at a Motel 6 but hey, it’s next to a Whataburger.
Nice pictures!
No Sturgis update?

I’m jealous! If you are headed towards Austin or San Antonio you have to stop in Lockhart for some Blacks BBQ.#meatlegend https://www.eater.com/2014/8/29/6164837/blacks-barbecue-82-years-of-a-texas-smoked-meat-legend

95ish in the morning. Got back aroumd 1130. It was 98 degrees. The hike was 3 miles total but I had to carry Furi towards the window. Rock hopping and stagnant water stuff. Next time I know and will do sunset.
The offroading, I was very cautious and have a SPOT tracker just in case. The Barbie jeep has a great crawl function too…
